The boil water advisory that was issued on October 10, 2025, for the Koppers Street area in Alexandria has been lifted. The advisory was put in place after City of Alexandria personnel repaired a main, which required precautionary measures.

Superintendent of Water Operations Barrett Dezendorf stated, “The State of Louisiana has tested the water, and the results of the tests are clear.” The Alexandria Water Department announced that businesses and residents along Koppers Street are no longer required to boil their water before use.

With the advisory lifted, the City recommends that affected businesses and residences take several steps: run cold-water faucets for one minute, run drinking water fountains for one minute, flush automatic icemakers by making and discarding three batches of ice, run water softeners through a regeneration cycle, and run water coolers with direct connections for five minutes.
