The City of Alexandria has lifted the boil water advisory for Windermere Blvd. The advisory, which was issued on August 26, 2025, followed repairs to a main conducted by city personnel. According to Barrett Dezendorf, Superintendent of Water Operations, the State of Louisiana tested the water and found it safe.

“The State of Louisiana has tested the water, and the results of the tests are clear,” said Dezendorf.

The advisory affected all properties along Windermere Blvd. Residents and businesses in this area are now advised to take several precautionary steps: run cold-water faucets for one minute; run drinking water fountains for one minute; flush automatic icemakers by making three batches of ice and discarding them; run water softeners through a regeneration cycle; and run water coolers with direct connections for five minutes.

For further information, residents can contact Barrett Dezendorf at 318.441-6215 or barrett.dezendorf@cityofalex.com.
