U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy attended the groundbreaking ceremony for Lipsey’s Guns’ new headquarters in Baton Rouge last Friday. The facility is expected to open next year. During the event, Cassidy acknowledged Richard Lipsey and his team for their efforts in job creation and community support.

“Lipsey’s is a family business committed to our state which made tough decisions in order to go from a good business to a great business, and we all benefit from them,” said Dr. Cassidy. “They went from one sporting goods store with a single location, to the largest gun wholesaler in the nation.”

Founded as S&S Wholesale Sporting Goods in 1953, Lipsey’s has grown into a leading wholesale distributor of firearms and shooting-sports equipment, providing handguns, rifles, shotguns, suppressors, optics, and accessories to dealers and retailers nationwide. The company employs around 200 people in Louisiana.

Cassidy was joined by Richard Lipsey at the event. Mr. Lipsey expressed appreciation for the senator’s presence: “Senator Cassidy, thank you for being here today,” said Mr. Lipsey. “Moments like this reminds us that Lipsey’s has never been about buildings, it has always been about people. Your support helps us continue serving our community with honor, excellence, and heart.”

Senator Cassidy represents Louisiana in the U.S. Senate and won election to this office in 2014 according to his official website.
