Congresswoman Julia Letlow, representing Louisiana’s 5th district, shared her perspectives on various issues through a series of tweets on June 4, 2025. Her posts addressed topics ranging from sports equity and tax policy to an art competition recognition.

In a tweet posted at 14:58 UTC, Letlow expressed her disapproval of “a biological male competing in the California girls’ track and field state finals.” She remarked, “Women have fought too hard for equality to see their accomplishments diminished.” Letlow also questioned California Governor Gavin Newsom’s stance on what she described as a civil rights issue.

Later that day at 17:20 UTC, Letlow emphasized the importance of pro-family tax policies. She tweeted about the benefits of such policies in keeping more money in workers’ paychecks and assisting with child-rearing costs through the child tax credit. She asserted that “Passing the tax relief found in our Big, Beautiful Bill is imperative for strengthening the American Family.”

At 21:50 UTC, Letlow congratulated Gabrielle Sibley from French Settlement High School for winning this year’s 5th District Congressional Art Competition. Sibley’s creative pencil drawing titled “Viking” is now displayed in the U.S. Capitol. Letlow celebrated this achievement by tweeting, “Congratulations to this year’s 5th District Congressional Art Competition winner.”

Julia Letlow has been serving in Congress since replacing Ralph Abraham in 2021 and was previously a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives. Born in Monroe, Louisiana in 1981, she graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a BA.
