U.S. Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana commented on border security, the State of the Union address, and U.S. foreign policy in a series of social media posts published on February 25, 2026.

In his first post, Kennedy stated, “A border that doesn’t work is bad for everybody—whether it’s the American people, the women and children being smuggled into the U.S., or our border communities. Secure the border, enforce our immigration laws, and keep the American people safe. #SOTU2026” (February 25, 2026).

Kennedy also criticized some Democratic lawmakers’ conduct during the State of the Union event: “Some Democrats couldn’t be bothered to listen to what the President has to say tonight. And some who did show up are trying to turn this place into the game room at a mental hospital. How can Republicans work with them to re-open DHS if they’d rather act like five-year-olds?” (February 25, 2026).

Addressing U.S. policy in the Middle East, Kennedy wrote: “Here’s a cold dish of truth for the tofu crowd sitting out the President’s State of the Union address tonight: The Middle East is safer today because America and Israel brought Iran and its friends to their knees. #SOTU2026” (February 25, 2026).

Senator Kennedy represents all of Louisiana in Congress and operates multiple district offices throughout Alexandria, Baton Rouge, Lake Charles, Monroe, New Orleans and Shreveport (official website). He regularly engages constituents through newsletters and public events and has worked on policies supporting veterans, farmers, small businesses and national security (official website). Kennedy chairs the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs while serving on several others including Appropriations, Budget and Energy and Natural Resources (official website), where he influences federal legislation.
