Senator John Kennedy, representing Louisiana in the U.S. Senate, recently addressed a range of topics on his social media account, including immigration issues and economic development initiatives in the state.
On August 25, 2025, Kennedy commented on a recent incident involving an undocumented immigrant. He wrote, “A Nicaraguan national allegedly drove with a blood alcohol level twice the legal limit and tragically struck and killed a Louisiana teen. He then fled. That 15-year-old would be alive today if this illegal immigrant never broke into our country.” The senator’s remarks follow ongoing national debates about immigration enforcement and public safety.
Later that day, Kennedy thanked local business leaders for their hospitality during a visit to Alexandria. In his post from August 25, he stated, “Thank you to the CENLA Chamber of Commerce for hosting me today in Alexandria! We can help our central Louisiana businesses create jobs through low taxes, reasonable regulations, and a world-class education—all things the One Big Beautiful Bill will help Louisiana achieve.”
On August 26, Kennedy reiterated his focus on economic priorities by posting: “Success in Louisiana’s future comes down to 3 things: Jobs, jobs, and jobs.”
Senator Kennedy has been an advocate for stricter immigration policies as well as legislative efforts aimed at boosting job creation in Louisiana. His mention of the “One Big Beautiful Bill” refers to pending legislation designed to lower taxes and streamline regulations for businesses in the state.
