U.S. Sen. John Kennedy, who represents Louisiana in the United States Senate, posted a series of tweets on January 6 and 7, 2026, commenting on national politics and political communication.

On January 6, Kennedy wrote about Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and two Democratic representatives: “Sen. Schumer knows Reps. Ocasio-Cortez and Jasmine Crockett are as nutty as a fruitcake. Still, he’s doing everything he can to make sure their wing of the Democratic Party loves him. Unfortunately for Chuck, they never will.”

Later that day, Kennedy addressed political discourse in Washington: “Some people in Washington try to muddy the water to make it look deep. The American people are plenty smart. They notice when politicians speak in Sanskrit to hide something from them. @PlanetTyrus”

On January 7, Kennedy referenced an appearance with Dave Rubin: “.@RubinReport and I agree: God is great, dogs are good, and people are crazy.”

Kennedy has served as U.S. Senator for Louisiana since 2017 and maintains offices across several cities in the state as well as one in Washington, D.C., according to his official website. He chairs the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs and serves on committees including Appropriations, Budget, and Energy and Natural Resources (source). His legislative efforts have focused on supporting veterans, farmers, small businesses, national security, and the state’s economy.

Kennedy regularly engages with constituents through newsletters, town halls, public events and offers assistance with federal agencies through his district offices located in Alexandria, Baton Rouge, Lake Charles, Monroe, New Orleans and Shreveport (source).
