Senator John Kennedy, representing Louisiana in the U.S. Senate, posted a series of statements on his social media account between December 17 and December 18, 2025. The tweets addressed issues ranging from comments about Rep. Jasmine Crockett to opinions on President Trump’s military actions and legislative efforts concerning healthcare, housing, and the economy.
On December 17, Kennedy commented on Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s public remarks, stating: “Rep. Jasmine Crockett has the right to her opinion. But somebody needs to tell her that the voices in her head are not real.”
The following day, he responded to criticisms regarding former President Trump’s military strikes targeting narco-terrorists: “A lot of the people calling President Trump’s strikes on narco-terrorists illegal are just wrong. If you wanted to hide something from them, you’d put it in a law book—especially in the chapter on the Constitution.”
Later on December 18, Kennedy addressed domestic policy issues related to healthcare costs, housing affordability, economic growth, and partisan divisions in Congress: “We know how to reduce the cost of health care. We know how to lower the cost of housing. We know how to stimulate the economy and increase wages. But Democrats won’t vote with us to do it—which is why Republicans ought to pass another reconciliation bill.”
Senator Kennedy has served as Louisiana’s senior senator since 2017 and is known for his outspoken views on national policy matters. Reconciliation bills referenced by Kennedy are legislative tools that allow certain budget-related measures to bypass filibuster rules in the Senate.
