Congresswoman Julia Letlow, representing Louisiana’s 5th district since 2021, recently shared insights from her meetings and discussions on social media. Letlow, who succeeded Ralph Abraham in Congress and previously served in the Louisiana House of Representatives, has been actively engaging with educational leaders and addressing pressing economic and human rights issues.

On May 22, 2025, Letlow expressed her enthusiasm for collaborating with Dr. Carrie Castille, the new President of the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM). She stated: “It was a pleasure to host new ULM President Dr. Carrie Castille in my office to chat about all things Warhawks! I’m excited to work with her to improve the university that we both know and love.” Letlow is an alumna of ULM, having graduated in 2002.

The following day, on May 23, she highlighted a meeting with the American Council of Engineering Companies of Louisiana (ACEC Louisiana), discussing critical topics such as workforce development and infrastructure. In her words: “It was a pleasure to meet with @ACECLouisiana about workforce development, infrastructure, and other issues facing our economy!”

Later that day, Letlow addressed human trafficking during an Appropriations hearing alongside Secretary Marco Rubio. She remarked: “Human trafficking is a devastating human rights issue that traps women and children in cycles of forced labor and sexual exploitation. Chatted with @SecRubio at our Appropriations hearing about how the Trump Administration is working to disrupt trafficking networks.”
