Congresswoman Julia Letlow, representing Louisiana’s 5th district, has been active on social media, sharing her experiences and viewpoints on various topics.
On April 14, 2025, Letlow expressed her respect and admiration for firefighters during her visit to Baton Rouge to honor those who have given their lives in service. She stated, “Our firefighters serve a cause greater than themselves: to save the lives of their neighbors and fellow citizens. Honored to be in Baton Rouge Saturday to visit with the families of heroic firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice.”
The following day, on April 15, 2025, Letlow voiced her opinion on the participation of transgender athletes in women’s sports, affirming, “Biological men should never compete in women’s sports. With Maine refusing to follow federal directives, the Trump Administration is right to hold them accountable for blatant Title IX violations.”
Additionally, on April 15, 2025, she commented on a local infrastructure project, stating the necessity to expedite its completion. She shared, “The Comite River Diversion Project must be seen to a quick completion. @WBRZ covered my stop to see the progress completed on this crucial flood control initiative affecting my constituents in the Baton Rouge area.”
Julia Letlow has served in the U.S. Congress, representing Louisiana’s 5th District, since 2021, after replacing U.S. Congress member Ralph Abraham. She previously served in the Louisiana House of Representatives, graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2002 with a BA, and currently resides in Start.
