Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) has issued a statement following the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. In his remarks, Kennedy described Kirk as “a courageous conservative, and most importantly, a good husband, father, and American.” He also noted Kirk’s influence on young people entering politics and his commitment to free speech.
Kennedy said, “His legacy will live on through every freedom-loving American who watched his show, listened to his speeches, or attended one of Turning Point USA’s events.”
The senator concluded by expressing his sorrow: “Charlie’s senseless death makes me sick.”
