The U.S. Senate confirmed 97 of President Trump’s nominees this week, with eight coming from the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee. Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA), chair of the HELP Committee during the 119th Congress, has overseen the advancement of 32 Trump nominees through his committee, all of whom have been confirmed by the Senate.
“Getting President Trump’s team in place is critical to delivering results for the American people,” said Dr. Cassidy. “As Chairman of the HELP Committee, I’m committed to advancing President Trump’s pro-worker, pro-family, pro-patient agenda.”
The confirmation vote was 53-43.
The confirmed nominees include Mary Anne Carter as Chairperson of the National Endowment for the Arts; Scott Mayer and James Murphy as Members of the National Labor Relations Board; Jeremiah Workman as Assistant Secretary of Labor for Veterans’ Employment and Training; Anthony D’Esposito as Inspector General at the Department of Labor; Crystal Carey as General Counsel of the National Labor Relations Board; Rosario Palmieri as Assistant Secretary of Labor for Policy; and Henry Mack III as Assistant Secretary of Labor for the Employment and Training Administration.
The HELP Committee plays a central role in shaping federal policy on public health, education, workforce issues, and retirement programs. It provides oversight over federal laws and agencies in these sectors and influences regulations affecting health and education across the United States. The committee also oversees agencies such as the FDA and NIH. More information about its work can be found on its official website.
