U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D., posted a series of statements on September 23, 2025, addressing issues ranging from school accountability and education reform to food safety.

In his first post, Cassidy commented on allegations involving school officials and the use of school funds for abortions: “A school official pressuring minors to obtain covert abortions using school funding is illegal. If reports are true, they represent a betrayal of Fairfax parents & families & warrant oversight by @GOPHELP to determine how this could have occurred and who must be held accountable.” (September 23, 2025).

Later that day, Cassidy addressed education policy at the federal level: “One of @POTUS’s greatest gifts is his willingness to break some eggs. Clearly, the education status quo could use some broken eggs. Grateful that @POTUS & @EdSecMcMahon are committed to reforming our broken education system so it works better for students and their families.” (September 23, 2025).

In a third statement focused on consumer safety and regional products, Cassidy wrote: “Not only does frozen, foreign-imported shrimp taste worse, but it’s also radioactive Eat Gulf shrimp!!” (September 23, 2025).

Senator Bill Cassidy represents Louisiana in the U.S. Senate and has been active in discussions about public health policy as well as education reform. His comments regarding imported seafood reflect ongoing concerns among Gulf Coast lawmakers about the quality and safety of foreign seafood compared to locally sourced products.
