U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D., used his social media platform on March 23, 2026, to address issues related to American supply chains, digital assets policy, and airport wait times attributed to federal funding disputes.
In a post from that day, Cassidy stated: “We should be strengthening our own supply chains, supporting American innovation, and ensuring this critical technology is produced here at home.” (March 23, 2026).
On the same date, he highlighted the importance of leadership in digital asset policy for economic and national security: “It is important for America to be in the driver’s seat on digital assets for both our economy and our national security. That’s why I’m pushing to advance my bill to bring our crypto tax rules into the 21st century and make it easier for Americans to use digital assets without” (March 23, 2026).
Later that day, Cassidy criticized Democratic lawmakers regarding airport delays and Department of Homeland Security funding: “Democrats are inflicting pain on the American people to appease their radical left-wing base. The President has been forced to deploy ICE at airports around the country, including MSY, that are facing hours long wait-times because they won’t budge. We must fund DHS now.” (March 23, 2026).
Senator Cassidy serves as chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee and is a member of several other committees focused on finance, energy resources, and veterans affairs. He has also co-founded the Greater Baton Rouge Community Clinic to provide free health care services for underserved populations (official website). Additionally, Cassidy advances initiatives aimed at reducing health care costs and reforming mental health systems.
