U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D., posted a series of tweets on September 24, 2025, addressing issues ranging from law enforcement and public safety to workers’ rights and education policy.
In his first post of the day, Cassidy highlighted his participation in an event recognizing local law enforcement. He wrote, “Great turnout at the @MetroCrimeNOLA awards luncheon today to honor our brave law enforcement. Many people are concerned about crime. They want to feel safe in their own city! I was glad to discuss how my HALT Fentanyl Act gives law enforcement one more tool to put fentanyl” (September 24, 2025). The senator referenced the HALT Fentanyl Act, legislation designed to enhance the ability of law enforcement agencies to address fentanyl-related crimes.
Later that evening, Cassidy commented on labor policy and federal administration efforts. In a tweet posted at 21:55 UTC, he stated, “.@POTUS and @SecretaryLCD are committed to delivering the most pro-worker administration in history. It’s unacceptable that Kathy Hochul and liberal New York Democrats are violating the Constitution to undermine workers’ rights.” (September 24, 2025). Here, Cassidy criticized New York Governor Kathy Hochul and other state officials for what he described as constitutional violations impacting workers’ rights.
A few minutes later, Cassidy turned his attention to education reform. He tweeted, “Largest investment in the Charter Schools Program ever! Charter schools are the future in America, and this will ensure that the future is strong. Thank you, @EdSecMcMahon and @POTUS, for empowering more parents to choose the best education to fit their child’s needs.” (September 24, 2025). This message praised recent federal investments into charter schools and acknowledged both President Biden and Education Secretary McMahon for their roles.
Senator Bill Cassidy represents Louisiana in the U.S. Senate and has focused legislative efforts on healthcare reform, opioid abuse prevention—including support for measures like the HALT Fentanyl Act—and education choice initiatives such as increased funding for charter schools.
