U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D., recently shared updates on economic development efforts and responded to current events in a series of posts on his official social media account.
On August 27, 2025, Cassidy described his visit to Alexandria, stating: “Great day in Alexandria discussing economic development at the Rotary Club and UTLX manufacturing plant. The One, Big, Beautiful Bill and Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act are enabling workers and businesses to thrive.” The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act is a federal law enacted in November 2021 that provides significant funding for transportation, broadband, water infrastructure, and other projects across the United States. This legislation aims to support job creation and economic growth by investing in critical infrastructure needs.
Later that same day, Cassidy addressed a violent incident in Minneapolis: “No one should experience evil like what happened today in Minneapolis—least of all children at mass. My heart is with the families of the victims. I grieve with you.”
On August 28, 2025, Cassidy commented on changes within an unspecified organization or agency: “These high profile departures will require oversight by the HELP Committee.” The Senate Health, Education, Labor & Pensions (HELP) Committee is responsible for overseeing matters related to health care policy as well as labor and education issues.
Senator Cassidy represents Louisiana in the U.S. Senate and has been involved in legislative efforts related to infrastructure investment as well as committee oversight responsibilities.
