U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D., shared a series of posts on August 20, 2025, addressing topics ranging from college football analogies to the national debt and local economic development.
In his first post of the day, Cassidy drew a comparison between college football rankings and the 2024 presidential election. On August 20, he wrote: “LSU was 11–0, #1 in both the AP and Coaches’ Poll, and won the Sugar Bowl. Auburn was 9–0–1, #4 in both polls. This was as close as the 2024 election. Trump=LSU Harris=Auburn”.
Later that morning, Cassidy highlighted his engagement with local business leaders: “Great to be with the Tangipahoa Chamber of Commerce this morning. My message was simple: the Northshore is a great place to live and work, and my job is to make it even better! https://t.co/HYpdwR3UFA”.
In another post that afternoon, Cassidy expressed concern about federal fiscal policy: “National Debt is now $37 TRILLION. This level of spending is DANGEROUSLY unsustainable, and it’s fueling the high interest rates that make it harder for families to buy a house or afford a car. The American Dream is being crushed by the debt.”
Senator Cassidy represents Louisiana in Congress and has frequently addressed issues related to fiscal responsibility and local economic growth during his tenure.
