U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D., shared a series of updates on his official Twitter account between April 13 and April 14, 2026, addressing the passing of Thetus Tenney, recent tax legislation benefiting Louisiana families, and proposed changes to voting requirements.
On April 13, Cassidy expressed condolences regarding the death of Thetus Tenney. He posted, “I was incredibly sorry to hear of the passing of Thetus Tenney. This photo is from December 2016 when her late husband, Bishop T.F. Tenney, opened the U.S. Senate in prayer. They are finally reunited. My prayers are with the Tenney family as they celebrate her life today.”
Later that day, Cassidy highlighted new tax relief measures for working families in Louisiana. He stated on April 13: “Our Working Families Tax Cuts bill is officially putting more money in Louisianans’ pockets this tax season. We cut taxes on tips. We cut taxes on overtime. We cut taxes on Social Security. I am proud to have worked to get this done to help our families’ bottom lines.”
On April 14, Cassidy discussed election reform through the SAVE America Act. He wrote: “The SAVE America Act brings common sense to our electoral system.
The vast majority of Americans agree you should show an ID when you vote. It shouldn’t even be a debate.”
