U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D., recently posted a series of messages on his social media account addressing fentanyl awareness and election integrity.
On August 25, 2025, Cassidy highlighted the story of Lillie Harvey at a recent event focused on combating fentanyl. He wrote, “It was an honor to be joined by Lillie Harvey at our HALT Fentanyl event last week. After losing her daughter, Millie, to a single pill laced with fentanyl, Lillie founded @milliemattered and became a powerful advocate against this deadly drug. My HALT Fentanyl Act is for https://t.co/GJZQ5A3hFx”. The senator referenced his support for the HALT Fentanyl Act during the event.
Earlier that day, Cassidy also commented on voting regulations in the United States. On August 25, 2025, he stated, “Only American citizens should vote in American elections. This is basic common sense. I will proudly cosponsor the SAVE Act, which requires proof of citizenship to register and protects the integrity of our elections.”
Additionally, on August 24, 2025, Cassidy shared another post without accompanying text: https://t.co/xJIdTv34si.
Senator Cassidy’s focus on fentanyl comes amid ongoing national concerns about opioid-related deaths and legislative efforts to curb synthetic opioid distribution. The mention of the SAVE Act aligns with broader debates over voter eligibility laws in the United States.
