U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D., posted a series of updates on April 1 and 2, 2026, highlighting his recent engagements and legislative achievements related to healthcare funding, infrastructure improvements, and Louisiana’s role in space exploration.

On April 1, Cassidy shared his participation at Hammond Hospital for the North Oaks Health Systems townhall: “Great turnout at Hammond Hospital for the North Oaks Health Systems townhall this morning with doctors, nurses, and support staff. Whether it’s the $50 BILLION for rural hospitals I supported in the Working Families Tax Cuts bill or the $1.4 BILLION I secured for Louisiana https://t.co/i13WhPSMqq”.

Later that day, he commented on Louisiana’s contribution to the Artemis II mission: “The Artemis II mission is incredibly exciting for our country. I am proud that the main piece of this massive rocket was built in New Orleans at the Michoud Assembly Facility. It is great to know Louisiana played such a huge role in this historic trip to space!”.

On April 2, Cassidy noted recent infrastructure investments during an event at STWCC: “Great time and great crowd at the @STWCC. I recently secured over $92 MILLION for the Northshore, including a massive $25 million project to finally widen I-12 in St. Tammany. I will keep working to deliver for the Northshore! https://t.co/y5m7xGtUVA”.

He serves as chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee and sits on several other key committees including Finance; Energy and Natural Resources; and Veterans Affairs (official website).
