U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D., used his social media platform on April 16, 2026, to address a range of legislative priorities, including IRS reform, women’s rights in sports, and election integrity.

On April 16, 2026, Cassidy wrote: “Taxpayers deserve a simple, stress-free experience when dealing with the IRS. My Improving IRS Customer Service Act makes filing quicker and easier for taxpayers to get the information they need.”

Later that day, Cassidy stated: “I launched an investigation into the state of Massachusetts for this. @POTUS signed an executive order to restore FAIRNESS for women and girls. I’m demanding that states comply.”

In another post on April 16, he said: “I have backed the talking filibuster since my very first day in the Senate in 2015. I support using it to pass the SAVE America Act to restore trust in our elections.”

Cassidy is recognized for his work on healthcare access and cost reduction initiatives. He co-founded the Greater Baton Rouge Community Clinic to provide free health and dental care to underserved populations (official website). He also serves as chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee and sits on the Finance, Energy and Natural Resources, and Veterans Affairs Committees (official website).
