U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D., posted a series of updates on social media regarding energy developments, legislative priorities, and community support initiatives in Louisiana.
On August 5, 2025, Cassidy highlighted the approval of an LNG export facility by the U.S. Department of Energy: “.@ENERGY has approved Venture Global’s Calcasieu Pass LNG export facility in Louisiana to expand exports and operate at full capacity. This is great news for American energy, Louisiana workers, and our allies abroad!” He attributed this development as beneficial for the state’s workforce and international partners.
Later that day, Cassidy addressed policy matters concerning reproductive rights in Louisiana. He stated on August 5, 2025: “A victory for the unborn in Louisiana. As Chair of the Senate HELP Committee, I’m committed to continue working with President Trump to advance policies that support mothers and protect the unborn in Louisiana.” In this post, he reaffirmed his position as Chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor & Pensions (HELP) Committee and his intention to collaborate with former President Donald Trump on related legislation.
On August 6, 2025, Cassidy shared his visit to a local business supporting a law enforcement officer injured in the line of duty: “At The Jambalaya Shoppe in Denham Springs, where they are raising funds for BRPD Sgt. Caleb Eisworth, who lost both legs in a motorcycle accident while serving our community. The food’s great, great cause!”
