U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D., posted a series of updates on March 21, 2026, highlighting his support for women’s sports and legislative efforts in Washington, D.C.

In one post from that day, Cassidy congratulated Louisiana State University’s women’s basketball team after a recent win: “Congrats to @lsuwbkb on the win last night! That offense has been rolling all season. Good luck in the next round! #GeauxTigers https://t.co/3tbxeKhgew” (March 21, 2026).

Later that afternoon, he shared his stance on gender participation in athletics by stating: “Just voted YES on @SenTuberville’s amendment to SAVE American Sports by banning men in women’s sports. Women’s sports should stay for women!!” (March 21, 2026).

Cassidy also updated followers about his work over the weekend related to ongoing Senate activity: “HAPPENING NOW: I’m in DC this weekend working to pass the SAVE America Act. Senator Cassidy serves as chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee and is a member of other key committees including Finance; Energy and Natural Resources; and Veterans Affairs (official website). He has a background in medicine with undergraduate and medical degrees from Louisiana State University. In addition to his legislative duties, Cassidy co-founded the Greater Baton Rouge Community Clinic providing free health care services for those without insurance.

He continues to focus on policy areas such as reducing health care costs and improving mental health systems while balancing personal commitments with family.
