U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) hosted a “Catch Up with Cassidy” event on March 20 in Washington, D.C., where he met with constituents from across Louisiana. The gathering allowed attendees to share their priorities, ask questions, and discuss issues affecting their communities.

The event is part of Cassidy’s ongoing efforts to engage directly with Louisianans and address matters important to the state. Representatives from organizations such as the Louisiana Fire Chiefs Association, the City of Pineville, the Richland Parish Police Jury, the St. Mary Community Action Agency, the Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, Citadel Aviation, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation attended.

“I wake up every morning thinking about how I can make Louisiana and our country a better place to live,” said Dr. Cassidy. “It was great to talk with folks back home about how we can keep delivering for our state.”

Cassidy serves as chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee and is also a member of the Finance, Energy and Natural Resources, and Veterans Affairs Committees according to his official website. He co-founded the Greater Baton Rouge Community Clinic to provide free health and dental care for working uninsured individuals according to his official website. Cassidy earned both his undergraduate and medical degrees from Louisiana State University according to his official website, and together with his wife—a retired breast cancer surgeon—has raised three children according to his official website.
