U.S. Senator John Kennedy, who represents Louisiana, commented on recent developments involving the BBC and U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer in a series of posts on March 16 and 17, 2026.

On March 16, Kennedy addressed the resignation of the head of the BBC, writing, “The head of the BBC, who’s resigning in disgrace, is admitting that his network is on a ‘knife edge.’ That’s the same BBC that misled its audience by splicing together two snippets of President Trump’s speech that were 50 MINUTES apart. This is a crisis of its own making.”

The following day, Kennedy extended holiday greetings to his constituents: “Becky and I are wishing Louisiana a very happy St. Patrick’s Day and plenty of the Luck of the Irish!” (March 17).

Also on March 17, Kennedy criticized U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s defense spending plans: “Prime Minister Starmer made a lot of big promises about defense spending. The problem? Many of those promises won’t kick in until 2030 and beyond. By that point, Starmer will be out of power and inflation will have eaten away at all his spending pledges.”

Senator Kennedy regularly engages with his constituents through newsletters, town halls and public events according to his official website. He operates district offices throughout Louisiana including Alexandria, Baton Rouge, Lake Charles, Monroe, New Orleans and Shreveport. As chair of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs and as a member of other key committees such as Appropriations and Energy and Natural Resources, Kennedy has influenced national policy in areas ranging from veterans’ affairs to national security. He represents all residents across Louisiana.
