John Kennedy, U.S. Senator from Louisiana, shared a series of posts on his official X account between September 18 and 19, 2025, addressing issues ranging from media coverage of violent incidents to political discourse and criticism of Democratic leadership.

On September 18, Kennedy criticized ABC’s characterization of messages exchanged between an accused assassin and their roommate. He stated: “ABC calling the texts between Charlie Kirk’s assassin and his roommate ‘touching’ triggers my gag reflex.”

Later that day, Kennedy reflected on the dangers of dehumanizing political opponents. In his post dated September 18, he wrote: “Once you start believing that someone who disagrees with you is evil, violence against that person can seem like justice.

It makes you lose all perspective.

We all have strong opinions, but you can’t let yourself hate. When I pray to God, I ask Him not to let me hate.”

On September 19, Kennedy made a pointed remark regarding Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s recent behavior in public forums. He posted: “Ever wonder why Sen. Schumer is running around and screaming like a 5-year-old in a Batman T-shirt?

This news from the real leader of the Democratic Party may have something to do with it.”

Senator John Kennedy has been known for his candid commentary on social media regarding national politics and current events. His posts often reflect broader tensions within American political discourse over how acts of violence are portrayed by the media as well as ongoing partisan disputes in Congress.
