82 percent of applicants to Northwestern State University of Louisiana were admitted for fall 2018

At Northwestern State University of Louisiana, 73 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 70 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Natchitoches enrolled 11,081 students in fall 2018, including 9,994 in undergraduate and 1,087 in graduate programs, data shows. 6.2 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

93 percent of undergraduates are residents of Louisiana, and 7 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (56 percent) and Black or African American (28 percent).

The school admitted 82 percent of the 4,444 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 43 percent enrolled.
