Of the 40,465 people living in Avoyelles Parish in 2020, 49.7 percent (20,124) were women and 50.3 percent (20,341) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Central Louisiana News.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by 778. In the 65 and over age range, there were 3,855 females and 3,014 males.
