Catahoula Parish School District schools in Catahoula Parish experienced fall in student enrollment for 2021-22 school year

The only school district in Catahoula Parish suffered declining enrollment in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

There were 1,027 students in the halls of Catahoula Parish School District schools, 7.4% lower than the year before.

Enrollment in Catahoula Parish was steady compared to the state’s trend of decreasing enrollment.

Out of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 50.6% of them were boys, and 49.4% were girls.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, representing 57.4% of the Catahoula Parish School Districts total enrollment.

Catahoula Parish School District has a main office in Harrisonburg and is the only school district within Catahoula Parish.

Only 22% of Louisiana’s teachers are Black or Latino, compared to about 48% of the state's K–12 students who identify as either race.

The majority of Louisiana students were either white (48%) or Black (37%) in the 2021-22 school year.
