There were 7 Hispanic students enrolled in Catahoula Parish schools in 2023-24 school year

There were seven Hispanic students enrolled in Catahoula Parish schools in the 2023-24 school year, 12.5% less than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

Data showed that Catahoula Parish welcomed 936 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 0.7% of the student body to be the third least represented ethnicity in the parish.

Among the five schools within the parish, Sicily Island High School recorded the highest enrollment of Hispanic students in the 2023-24 school year, with a total of three students.

Louisiana's educational performance is among the lowest in the nation, according to a WalletHub analysis. The state was ranked 47th overall, based on factors such as class size, student performance, funding, school safety, and teacher qualifications.
