The Alexandria Fire Department, alongside Rapides Fire District #2, responded to a structure fire in the 4200 block of Pecan Drive early this morning. The incident occurred at 4207 Pecan Drive, with the call being made at approximately 3:29 AM. The Alexandria Fire Department deployed four engine companies, two district chief units, and two fire investigators to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters observed smoke coming from the roof and interior of the structure. The immediate assessment led to the commencement of firefighting operations. The team managed to bring the fire under control within fifty-nine minutes of their arrival.
Tragically, the incident resulted in the death of an adult. The identity of the deceased is being withheld until positive identification can be made. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
