Cassidy Invites Bishop Brandon of Shreveport to Lead Opening Prayer in U.S. Senate

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) extended an invitation to Bishop Larry Lawrence Brandon, Senior Pastor of Praise Temple of Shreveport, Louisiana, to lead the U.S. Senate in the opening prayer on March 12, 2024.

"It was an honor to have Bishop Larry Brandon of Shreveport lead the opening prayer for the Senate today," said Dr. Cassidy. "Bishop Brandon has displayed great dedication to his community. The message of integrity, compassion, and liberty resonated deeply on the Senate floor."

Founded over thirty years ago, Praise Temple Missionary Baptist Church has become a significant part of Shreveport-Bossier, with extensions in Ruston, Monroe, Bossier, and Lafayette in Louisiana. Bishop Brandon's participation in the Senate opening prayer further highlights his commitment to serving his community and spreading messages of faith and unity.
