Natchitoches, LA, January 19, 2023 – The Natchitoches Parish Library (NPL) is thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of “Tech Talk” – a series of classes designed to help adults build skills and confidence in using technology, for both personal enjoyment and employment reasons.

The Tech Talks will be offered as in-person classes, taught by library staff, at the NPL Main Branch. Each topic is a standalone class, with evening and morning sessions available. Participants will increase their digital literacy in a variety of topics. The classes can be registered for individually, as desired: Basic Computer Skills (Jan. 23, 5:30 PM & Feb. 1, 10:30 AM); Email & Social Media (Feb. 6, 5:30 PM & Feb. 15, 10:30 AM); Online Safety (Feb. 20, 5:30 PM & March 1, 10:30 AM); Microsoft Office Suite (March 6, 5:30 PM & March 15, 10:30 AM); Job Searching & Skill Building (March 20, 5:30 PM & March 29, 10:30 AM); and Digital Resources & E-Readers (April 3, 5:30 PM & April 12, 10:30 AM).

Those interested in attending can sign up by calling 318-238-9224. Each class is limited to 10 participants to allow for an interactive element.

“We are delighted to be able to offer these classes to our community,” said Natchitoches Parish Library Director, Jessica McGrath. “It’s an exciting opportunity for adults to gain new skills, explore possible career paths, and learn with others in the community who are interested in the same topics.”

“The Natchitoches Parish Library is committed to providing crucial resources to our patrons, and we hope that our Tech Talks will be an opportunity for them to learn new skills and gain confidence in technology use,” said NPL Outreach & IT Coordinator, Alan Niette. “If you or someone you know is completely unfamiliar with the topics we will be covering, even to the point they are scared to touch a computer, have them sign up! These classes are meant to help them learn to use technology from a resource they can trust.”
