How many Hispanic or Latino students were enrolled in Natchitoches Parish districts in 2021-22 school year?

There were 179 Hispanic or Latino students enrolled in Natchitoches Parish districts in the 2021-22 school year, 3.5% more than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

Data showed that Natchitoches Parish districts welcomed 5,581 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, Hispanic or Latino students comprised 3.2% of the student body to be the third most represented ethnicity in the parish districts.

Among the two districts in Natchitoches Parish, Natchitoches Parish School District recorded the highest enrollment of Hispanic or Latino students in the 2021-22 school year, with a total of 166 students.

The main offices of all districts mentioned in the story are located in cities associated with Natchitoches Parish.

The majority of Louisiana students were identified as white and Black, representing 48% and 37% of the state student body respectively during the 2021–22 academic year. Hispanic students made up 8.6% of the student body, and other ethnic minorities made up 5.6%.

In 2022, there was roughly one teacher for every 18 students, compared to the national average of 1:16.
