Lower student enrollment in Concordia Parish School District schools, following the state’s numbers

The only school district in Concordia Parish suffered declining enrollment in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

There were 3,025 students in the halls of Concordia Parish School District schools, 7.6% lower than the year before.

Enrollment in Concordia Parish was steady compared to the state’s trend of decreasing enrollment.

Out of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 51.5% of them were boys, and 48.5% were girls.

The most represented ethnicity among Concordia Parish School District students was Black or African American, accounting for 47.3% of the student population.

Concordia Parish School District has a main office in Vidalia and is the only school district within Concordia Parish.

Only 22% of Louisiana’s teachers are Black or Latino, compared to about 48% of the state's K–12 students who identify as either race.

The majority of Louisiana students were either white (48%) or Black (37%) in the 2021-22 school year.
