The only school district in Grant Parish suffered declining enrollment in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

There were 2,869 students in the halls of Grant Parish School District schools, 1.1% lower than the year before.

Enrollment in Grant Parish was steady compared to the state’s trend of decreasing enrollment.

Out of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 52.5% of them were boys, and 47.5% were girls.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, representing 83.7% of the Grant Parish School Districts total enrollment.

Grant Parish School District has a main office in Colfax and is the only school district within Grant Parish.

The majority of Louisiana students were either white (48%) or Black (37%) in the 2021-22 school year.

In 2022, there was roughly one teacher for every 18 students in Louisiana, which is worse than the national average of one teacher for every 16 students.
