Fewer students enrolled in Sabine Parish’s only school district in 2021-22 school year

The only school district in Sabine Parish suffered declining enrollment in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

There were 4,041 students in the halls of Sabine Parish School District schools, 3.9% lower than the year before.

Enrollment in Sabine Parish was steady compared to the state’s trend of decreasing enrollment.

Out of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 51.1% of them were boys, and 48.9% were girls.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, representing 50.3% of the Sabine Parish School Districts total enrollment.

Sabine Parish School District has a main office in Many and is the only school district within Sabine Parish.

Only 22% of Louisiana’s teachers are Black or Latino, compared to about 48% of the state's K–12 students who identify as either race.

The majority of Louisiana students were either white (48%) or Black (37%) in the 2021-22 school year.
