U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy has announced that Louisiana will receive over $4 million from the Delta Regional Authority (DRA) to enhance economic development and improve infrastructure. This funding comes as part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which Cassidy helped negotiate.

"This is great news for Louisiana and an investment in our economy and workforce," said Dr. Cassidy. "Thanks to the Infrastructure Law, which I helped negotiate, we can expect to see even more dollars coming our way."

The funds will support 11 projects aimed at improving water and sewer systems, updating transportation infrastructure, and enhancing electrical reliability for approximately 18,000 residents across various communities in Louisiana.

These projects are funded through the States’ Economic Development Assistance Program (SEDAP), which invests directly into community-based initiatives focusing on public infrastructure, transportation, workforce training, education, and small business development with a focus on entrepreneurship. Additionally, the Community Infrastructure Fund (CIF) targets physical infrastructure projects to build safer and more resilient communities in the Delta region. The DRA works closely with the Office of the Governor for Louisiana and local development districts to implement program funding.
