U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy has announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation will allocate $320,000 to the Rapides Area Planning Commission. This funding, sourced from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, is intended to enhance transportation in Alexandria.

"By investing in our transportation systems now, we’re building an economy for 2050," stated Dr. Cassidy. "This funding will strengthen Louisiana’s infrastructure, making our state a more hospitable place for families and businesses."

The initiative focuses on improving mobility by enhancing pedestrian, bicycle, and transit connections. It aims to identify prioritized capital projects and operational improvements while providing planning-level designs and cost estimates to guide local, regional, and state project programming.
