U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy has announced that Louisiana is set to receive $17,860,797.42 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The funds are allocated for relief efforts related to Hurricanes Laura and Ida, as well as for new generators and flood elevation projects.

Senator Cassidy emphasized the importance of preparation in mitigating the impact of future storms. "Preparing for future storms is always top of mind. The best way to prevent devastation is by putting precautions in place," said Dr. Cassidy. He noted that this funding will aid in restoring communities across Louisiana while also enhancing their preparedness for upcoming weather events.
