Firefighters respond to apartment blaze on White Street

The Alexandria Fire Department responded to a structure fire on White Street in Alexandria, Louisiana. At around 11:17 AM, the department was dispatched to an apartment building located at 1721 White Street following reports of a fire.

The department sent three engine companies, one district chief’s unit, and a fire investigator to manage the situation. Upon arrival, they observed light smoke coming from the attic area. The building's occupants were evacuated as a precautionary measure.

The source of the fire was identified as an unattended electric heater. The firefighters quickly brought the situation under control. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in connection with the incident. The American Red Cross has been contacted to provide assistance to residents affected by the fire.
