U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy announced that Louisiana is set to receive over $8.6 million from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for disaster relief related to Hurricanes Ida and Laura. This funding is intended to aid in several recovery efforts across the state.

Senator Cassidy highlighted that the funds would be directed towards significant reconstruction projects. “This funding supports critical recovery efforts in South Louisiana—from restoring schools in Terrebonne Parish to rebuilding port infrastructure in Lake Charles,” he stated. According to Cassidy, these investments play an essential role in helping communities recover and strengthen their resilience against future storms.
