Suspect arrested in connection with intentional Jackson Street fire

Alexandria, LA - The Alexandria Fire Department responded to a fire incident on Jackson Street. On February 25, at approximately 12:58 PM, firefighters were dispatched to the 1400 block of Jackson Street following reports of a building fire.

The department sent three engine companies, one district chief's unit, and a fire investigator to the scene. Upon arrival, crews found smoke coming from the attic area. The fire was controlled within ten minutes, preventing further damage.

An investigation revealed that the fire was intentionally set. Officers identified Rayanne Elizabeth Vicknair, aged 27 from Pineville, LA, as the suspect. She has been arrested and charged with Simple Arson >500 and is currently held at Rapides Parish Detention Center 1.
