U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy announced that Louisiana will be receiving over $28.6 million from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). This funding is intended as reimbursement for emergency protective measures taken in response to Hurricanes Laura and Ida. The actions covered by this funding include the deployment of a temporary freshwater pipeline and generators for recovery efforts.

Dr. Cassidy commented on the significance of this financial support by stating, “This funding brings Louisiana communities closer to recovery and makes us stronger for the future. We will always be there for our neighbors after a storm.”
