WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) has revealed that the South Louisiana Electrical Cooperative Association (SLECA) is set to benefit from $1,908,607.93 in funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for the emergency reconstruction of substation access roadways damaged in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida.
“Louisiana’s continued recovery from Hurricane Ida is a testament to our resiliency,” said Dr. Cassidy.
The funding provided by FEMA is aimed at supporting south Louisiana in its efforts to rebuild and prepare for future natural disasters, particularly in the wake of the destructive impact of Hurricane Ida.
This financial assistance comes as a crucial lifeline for the affected areas in Louisiana, emphasizing the importance of federal support in aiding communities to recover and strengthen their infrastructure against future calamities.
