In Alexandria, Louisiana, residents and businesses along Twin Bridges Rd are facing a boil water advisory following repairs to a 4-inch water main, as stated by Barrett Dezendorf, Superintendent Water Operations. Dezendorf highlighted that the water pressure loss during the repair process has potentially compromised the water in the area.
The Alexandria Water Department swiftly responded by issuing a precautionary boil advisory, effective immediately and to remain in place until further notice. The advisory specifically covers all properties highlighted in the attached map along Twin Bridges Rd.
As Dezendorf emphasized, all individuals within the affected area are strongly advised to take necessary precautions before using the water for consumption or other purposes. He stated, "It is recommended that all consumers in the advisory area disinfect their water before consuming it."
To ensure safety, consumers are instructed to boil water for one full minute in a clean container after it has reached a rolling boil. Additional recommendations include shaking the water to eliminate any flat taste, pouring it between clean containers, or adding a small pinch of salt to each quart of boiled water.
Businesses and residences in the impacted zone are urged to follow specific guidelines once the boil advisory is lifted, including running faucets and equipment to clear the water lines.
