A boil water advisory has been issued for Tulane Ave in Alexandria, Louisiana, following repairs to a 12-inch water main, as stated by Barrett Dezendorf, Superintendent Water Operations. The loss of water pressure during the repair process has led to concerns about the compromised water quality in the affected area.

The Alexandria Water Department is taking precautionary measures by advising all customers located in the highlighted properties along Tulane Ave to boil their water before consumption. The advisory, effective immediately, will remain in effect until further notice. Consumers are urged to follow specific guidelines for water disinfection, including boiling water for one full minute in a clean container.

In response to the advisory, the City of Alexandria recommends that residents and businesses in the affected area take necessary steps to ensure water safety. This includes running cold-water faucets, drinking water fountains, flushing automatic icemakers, regenerating water softeners, and running water coolers with direct water connections for specified durations.

Barrett Dezendorf, Superintendent Water Operations, can be contacted for further information at 318-441-6215 or via email at barrett.dezendorf@cityofalex.com. Residents are advised to continue disinfecting their water until the boil advisory is lifted.

The City of Alexandria emphasizes the importance of following these guidelines to maintain water safety and mitigate any potential health risks associated with the boil water advisory.
