The Alexandria Fire Department responded to 6426 Windy Oaks at 8:32 PM for a reported house fire. The first unit arrived on the scene within six minutes of the initial alarm. A full complement of units was on the scene within eight minutes. AFD dispatched two engine companies, one aerial company, a medical unit, one district chief unit, and a fire investigative unit.
The fire was brought under control within forty-one minutes, and there were no injuries reported. Investigators have determined the fire was caused by a lightning strike.
