On Sunday, July 28, 2024, at approximately 2:35 PM, the Alexandria Police Department responded to the 2200 block of West Sycamore Street in reference to a shooting. Responding officers found 33-year-old Shawn Harper of Pineville, LA and 23-year-old Kay’irian Barber of Alexandria, LA deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. A third person sustained gunshot wounds and is in critical condition at a local hospital.
This is currently an ongoing investigation.
