The boil advisory issued on August 29, 2024, for the Suthy Street area in Alexandria, Louisiana, has been lifted. The advisory was initially put in place due to repairs on a two-inch water main conducted by City of Alexandria (COA) personnel. Following these repairs, the State of Louisiana tested the water and confirmed its safety.

Barrett Dezendorf, Superintendent of Water Operations, stated that the test results were clear. Consequently, the Alexandria Water Department has removed the boil advisory for businesses and residents located along Suthy Street.

With the lifting of the advisory, the City of Alexandria recommends several precautionary measures for affected businesses and residences:

- Run cold-water faucets for one minute;

- Run drinking water fountains for one minute;

- Flush automatic icemakers by making three batches of ice and discarding them;

- Run water softeners through a regeneration cycle; and

- Run water coolers with direct water connections for five minutes.
